StockMama - Home Inventory App for Moms
Managing household groceries can be overwhelming, especially for busy moms.
Year :
2025
Industry :
Food and Beverage
Client :
Moms
Project Duration :
3 weeks

Problem :
During an innovation event I attended last year, participants were asked to identify real-world problems and propose solutions. A mom in the group raised a concern: “I always forget what’s left in my fridge. Sometimes I buy duplicates, and sometimes I run out of essentials unexpectedly. It’s frustrating!”
This resonated with the group, leading to a brainstorming session on how to solve this issue. I took notes and, months later, turned this problem into a design challenge
Research :

Solutions:

Summary :
What Users Loved
Effortless Item Logging – The barcode scanner was a game-changer, making it easy to add groceries without manual input.
Smart Notifications – Timely alerts for low-stock and expiring items helped users reduce waste and plan meals better.
Auto-Updated Shopping List – Users appreciated how the app suggested what to buy based on their inventory, reducing forgotten grocery runs.
Intuitive Dashboard – The visual clarity of stocked vs. low items made grocery tracking stress-free.
Areas for Improvement
Onboarding Clarity – Some users felt the introduction was too fast, missing key features. A more interactive guide was suggested.
Manual Entry Fatigue – While scanning worked well, users wanted predictive text and voice input for faster manual logging.
Report Complexity – Insights were useful, but users wanted a simpler breakdown of spending patterns and consumption habits.
Next Steps
Based on this feedback, we’re enhancing onboarding with an interactive walkthrough, improving manual input options, and simplifying reports for better usability.
Final Verdict? Users loved the app’s potential to save time, reduce waste, and simplify grocery management. With these refinements, we’re making it even better!
